    I. Purpose and scope of application:

    California bearing ratio (CBR) tester is used to test the bearing ratio of various soil, pavement base and bottom materials after making specimens in the specified test tube. This test is in accordance with ASTM d1883 and BS1377:4.

    The maximum particle size of the mixture should be controlled within 25 mm and not more than 40 mmII.Main parameters of the instrument:

    1. Test speed: 1.27mm/min(ASTM D1883)   1mm/min(BS1377:4). Fast speed: 15mm / min

    2. Test force value: 50kN force value accuracy: 0.001kn

    3. Penetration rod: end diameter: 49.63 ± 0.13MM(ASTM D1883)     50±0.5MM(BS1377:4)

    4. Displacement sensor: 0-25mm, graduation value: 0.01mm, linearity: 0.3%.

    Automatic CBR Test Machine is designed for performing laboratory evaluation of the CBR value of highway sub-bases and sub-grade, and determination of the strength of cohesive materials which have maximum particle sizes less than 19 mm.

    This machine is suitable for test of soils and mix materials (the grain size of the soil is less than 40mm) compacted with CBR mold so as to confirm the bearing loading ability of pavement, roadbed subcrust as well as material layer of the roadbed to be designed.
