I. Purpose and Scope of Application

This instrument is designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the “Test Procedures for Asphalt and Asphalt Mixture in Highway Engineering” (JTG E20-2011) of the People’s Republic of China, specifically the “Test for Dynamic Viscosity of Asphalt (Vacuum-Reduced Pressure Capillary Method)” (T 0620-2000), as well as the “Determination of Viscosity of Petroleum Asphalt (Vacuum Capillary Method)” (SH/T 0557-1998) of the Petrochemical Industry Standard of the People’s Republic of China.
This instrument is suitable for determining the dynamic viscosity of viscous petroleum asphalt using a vacuum reduced pressure capillary viscometer. Unless otherwise specified, the test temperature is 60℃ and the vacuum degree is 300mmHg. (-40KP ± 0.06KP)
This instrument is also applicable to other substances with a viscosity range of 0.0036 to 20.000 Pa.s, tested at a temperature of 60℃ and a vacuum degree of 300mmHg (40kpa) by the vacuum capillary method.
