Asphalt Computer-Controlled Marschel Stability Tester

The electric Marshall compaction instrument is a special equipment for the molding of test pieces in the asphalt mixture Marshall test. It is suitable for the Marshall test (T0702-2000) standard of asphalt mixture. The instrument consists of two parts: mechanical transmission and control instrument. The mechanical transmission mechanism is motor, speed reducer and chain drive. The motor drives the speed reducer and the reducer to drive the chain to rotate. The stop block on the chain drives the standard hammer to move upward along the guide rod during the movement. When the heavy hammer hits the wedge The heavy hammer and the block on the chain are disengaged, and the heavy hammer is free to fall along the guide rod to hit the test piece.

1.1 This product is applicable to the Marshall Stability Test of asphalt mixture (T0709-2011) and the Marshall Test of asphalt pavement core samples (T0710-2011) as stipulated in the “Test Procedures for Asphalt Mixture in Highway Engineering” (JTG E20-2011).
1.2 This instrument is suitable for Marshall stability test and water-soaked Marshall stability test, which are used for the mix proportion design of asphalt mixture or the quality inspection of asphalt pavement construction. The water-soaked Marshall stability test (or vacuum saturated Marshall stability test as required) is used to examine the resistance to stripping of asphalt mixture when exposed to water, and to verify the feasibility of the mix proportion design through testing its water stability.
1.3 This method is applicable to standard Marshall specimens and large Marshall specimens formed in accordance with the procedures specified in T 0702 of this regulation.

Ⅱ.Main technical parameters

1.1 Marshall specimens shall be formed by the compaction method in accordance with T 0702. The dimensions of standard Marshall specimens shall comply with the requirements of a diameter of 101.6mm ± 0.2mm and a height of 63.5mm ± 1.3mm. For large Marshall specimens, the dimensions shall meet the requirements of a diameter of 152.4mm ± 0.2mm and a height of 95.3mm ± 2.5mm. The number of specimens in a group shall not be less than 4.
1.2 Measure the diameter and height of the specimens: Use a caliper to measure the diameter at the middle of the specimen. Use a Marshall specimen height gauge or a caliper to measure the height at four symmetrical directions 10mm away from the edge of the specimen, accurate to 0.1mm, and take the average value as the height of the specimen. If the height of the specimen does not meet the requirements of 63.5mm ± 1.3mm or 95.3mm ± 2.5mm, or if the height difference between the two sides is greater than 2mm, the specimen shall be discarded.
1.3 Determine the density of the specimens in accordance with the methods specified in this procedure, and calculate the volume indicators such as void ratio, asphalt volume percentage, asphalt saturation, and mineral aggregate void ratio.
